Marlene Romero, M.A., AMFT

Marlena Savasta is a seasoned Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade of experience supporting children and families through life’s most challenging moments. Her clinical background spans both inpatient and outpatient settings, giving her a deep understanding of the unique needs of children involved in CPS and foster care systems, as well as families navigating the impact of poverty.

Marlena earned her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Simpson University in 2023. Her clinical focus includes trauma, ADHD, anxiety, and depression, and she draws on extensive crisis intervention experience to provide calm, compassionate care when it’s needed most. She also has a special passion for supporting women navigating chronic illness and infertility, as well as individuals coping with ongoing health challenges such as cancer, diabetes, and chronic pain.

Marlena believes therapy should be a warm, collaborative space where clients feel truly seen and supported. Her approach is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and a deep belief in each person’s capacity for healing and growth.

Populations Served:
Marlena works with a wide range of ages but especially enjoys working with children, teens, and young adults as they navigate life transitions and emotional challenges.

Outside of Work:
When she’s not in the therapy room, Marlena loves spending time running around with her toddler. She’s also an avid San Francisco Giants fan, passionate traveler, and lover of live music and concerts.
