Welcome to Northern California Family Counseling & Wellness Center
At Northern California Family Counseling & Wellness Center, we welcome an array of people—children, teens, couples, individuals, and families. We believe healing looks different at every stage of life, and our clinicians are equipped to meet you where you are. Whether it’s helping a child navigate big emotions, guiding a couple through relational challenges, supporting an individual in processing trauma, or working with a family to strengthen their bonds, we offer compassionate and specialized care for every age and life situation. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where every person feels valued and understood, no matter their background or life story.
Many of our therapists work with first responders and veterans—and have experience both professionally and personally. Our team includes clinicians who are veterans themselves, spouses of first responders, and former first responders. This gives us a unique and culturally competent perspective that helps us meet our clients with understanding, respect, and deep empathy. We honor the complexity of your experiences and are dedicated to walking alongside you in your healing journey.
We understand that asking for help takes courage, and we invite you to feel empowered by the decision to begin therapy. Here, you’ll find a team of highly trained therapists who are passionate about helping you build strength, find clarity, and create long-lasting change.
We provide services both in-person and via Telehealth, and we have clinicians licensed or associate-licensed in California, Nevada, and Arizona to meet your needs wherever you are.
Our Story
Northern California Family Counseling started in 2018 and officially became Northern California Family Counseling & Wellness Center, inc in 2022. From the beginning, our founder, Christina Whitney, LMFT, envisioned a location that would symbolize peace, comfort, and acceptance—where individuals, couples, and families could be offered quality therapeutic services in a healing atmosphere.
As a strong supporter of mental well-being and a true believer in client-led therapy, Christina has dedicated her professional career to helping people navigate trauma, suffering, and relationship challenges. Her clinical focus centers on attachment and trauma recovery, particularly in the lives of couples and first responders. Drawing from both professional expertise and her own personal experience as the spouse of a first responder, Christina brings a deep, empathetic understanding to the emotional complexities of high-stress careers, relational disconnection, and healing from invisible wounds. She creates a space where clients feel safe, seen, and empowered to explore their inner world and restore meaningful connection with themselves and others.
At Northern California Family Counseling & Wellness Center, we are deeply proud of the lives we touch and transform. Whether you're beginning your healing journey or continuing on your path, we’re honored to walk alongside you every step of the way.
Thank you for thinking of us—we look forward to being a part of your journey.
