Counseling for Teens & Children
Growing up comes with challenges, and sometimes children and teens need extra support to navigate their emotions, relationships, and experiences. Whether they're struggling with anxiety, behavioral challenges, friendships, family changes, or difficult life events, therapy provides a safe, supportive space to express themselves, build confidence, and develop healthy coping skills.
At Northern California Family Counseling & Wellness Center, we meet children and teens where they are, using age-appropriate, evidence-based approaches tailored to their developmental needs. Through a combination of creative expression, emotional exploration, and practical skill-building, we help young people better understand themselves, navigate challenges, and build resilience. When appropriate, we also collaborate with parents and caregivers to support lasting growth and stronger family connections.

EMDR — Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, adapted for a virtual format.
Brainspotting — effective over video and often preferred by clients who want to work from a familiar space.
Somatic and polyvagal-informed work — body-based approaches to regulation.
Individual, couples, and family therapy — including sessions where participants join from separate locations.
Neurofeedback requires in-person equipment and is available only at our Redding office.
Where we're licensed
Our clinicians hold licenses or associate licenses in California, Nevada, and Arizona. Because licensure is state-specific, we'll match you with a therapist licensed in the state where you'll be physically located during sessions. If you're unsure, ask us — it's the first thing we check.
