Sierra Baker, MFT Trainee

Sierra is a Marriage and Family Therapy Trainee working with individuals, couples, children, and

families throughout Northern California. She brings a calm, grounded, and compassionate presence to

therapy, believing that meaningful change begins when people feel truly seen, heard, and understood.

As a mother, Sierra appreciates how complex and layered life can be, and she integrates both lived

experience and clinical training into her work. Her approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and

solution-focused, with an emphasis on mindfulness to support grounding and emotional balance. She also

recognizes that time in natural spaces can be deeply supportive of wellbeing and incorporates this into her

work when appropriate.

She has a special interest in maternal mental health and supporting individuals and families across

different stages of life. Above all, she strives to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients can

move forward at their own pace.

Why I Became a Clinician

Sierra was drawn to marriage and family therapy because of her deep curiosity about how relationships,

family dynamics, and life experiences shape who we are. She believes that healing happens in connection

and that having a safe, supportive place to process life’s challenges can be truly transformative.

She chose the LMFT path for its relational and holistic lens, which honors not only the individual but the

larger systems that influence our lives. Her goal is to walk alongside clients with warmth and respect as

they build insight, deepen their relationships, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.

Training and Areas of Focus

Sierra has completed additional training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindful Self-

Compassion, and Life Design for Educators. These trainings align with her gentle, grounded therapeutic

style and support clients in building self-awareness, managing stress, and making intentional choices that

foster long-term wellbeing. She remains dedicated to ongoing education and integrating current research

into her clinical work.

Outside the Therapy Room

Outside of work, Sierra enjoys spending meaningful time with her family and being in nature. She finds

grounding through hiking, practicing yoga, meditating, and dreaming up plans for her garden. She feels

most alive near the water, and when time and opportunity allow, she loves surfing and diving. Sierra

values balance, presence, and self-care, and believes that nurturing wellbeing outside of the therapy room

is just as important as the work done within it.
