Yvette Brown, Attune Center Trainee
If you are a midlife woman who has spent years holding everyone else together while your own story remains unfinished, you are not asking for too much by wanting a place to set it down.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee in Redding, CA at Attune Center for Healing (supervised by Christina Whitney, LMFT #111050), I work with women carrying unprocessed trauma, C-PTSD, grief, and the after effects of narcissistic or controlling relationships. Many are also living with chronic illness, caregiving for adult children or aging parents, or staying steady in a complex blended family. You may look capable and still feel tired of being the strong one.
A lot of the women I see prioritize marriage, family, responsibility, and doing right by the people they love. That does not mean life has been tidy. It often means you have carried more than your share.
Therapy with me is paced and collaborative. We work with the parts of you that learned to survive, what your body still holds, and family patterns that asked you to grow up too soon. I use Internal Family Systems and Brainspotting alongside talk therapy. You will not be pushed to share more than you are ready to share.
After more than 48 years of my own journey to healing, I became an MFT Trainee through the Simpson University Masters in Counseling Psychology program to help others find their own path to healing. Years of caregiving, chronic illness, and trauma-informed peer support shape how carefully I hold this work.Faith can be part of the room if you want it there. I am a Christian, and I respect traditional family values as a resource, not a problem. Faith will not be used to rush forgiveness or skip the work. If that is not how you name your life, you are welcome here too.
